G&W Contracting were proud to have been awarded the design and build electrical contract across multiple sites for Showcase Cinemas, installing ATMOS sound systems concurrently within a 6 week timescale at each location. Dolby ATMOS is the surround sound technology which allows an unlimited number of audio tracks to be distributed to theatres for optimal, dynamic rendering to loudspeakers based on theatre capabilities. Other works included power, data, lighting and emergency lighting, fire alarm and security, auditorium and projection systems. The cinemas were live and operating so all work needed to be completed around this.
Part of the project involved the complete refurbishment of the cinema to upgrade it to the Xplus brand.
