G&W Contracting were proud to be awarded the electrical installation contract at the prestigious new Cineworld complex, constructed at the London Designer Outlet in Wembley. No mean feat, as the entire project was constructed around the event schedules of both Wembley Stadium and Wembley Arena, meaning that deliveries and construction were carried out within very strict time schedules.
The London Designer Outlet forms part of the larger Wembley City development around the iconic Wembley Stadium and the world renown Wembley Arena in north west London. Both the stadium and the arena continued to host events throughout the project making the site and surrounding areas extremely busy on event days. This large 9 screen cinema fit out was carried out on the upper levels of the shopping centre.
The brief to G&W Contracting was to cover the following elements:
- Main switch gear
- Fire alarms
- Central battery emergency lighting
- Lighting and power
- Data installation
- Projection and sound systems
The complex issues of fire alarms and evacuation in the event of an emergency are paramount in this type of project. We installed a full building management system, including automatic controls for lighting, lighting levels and all HVAC equipment.
Our experience and knowledge provided us with the expertise to implement these requirements for our clients. This included the installation of all controls cabling, to give a fully automated, unmanned, digital projection system.
